What are DataTypes?
DataTypes, on the Amiga, is the multimedia framework that allows different media formats, for pictures, sounds, animations and hypertext, to be supported by using codecs, also called, in Amiga-speak, "DataTypes"
What is this list?
There have been many DataType plugins written for the Amiga, covering all kinds of different media formats. The most popular formats often have more than one different DataType plugin claiming to support that format, and that's where the problem lies.
The aim of this list is to document which formats are supported, where to get the DataType plugin from, and which are ones are the best to use in the 21st century - with support for newer technologies such as 24 bit, AHI and WarpOS, as well as the latest version of their file formats.
